Class, I have checked my email and there were 20 emails of ELT
tasks in my inbox. I counted them as my students belong to the class of ELT
IIIC. They who have not sent the first task may be counted as the member of the
class, but they did not have right to get the presence of Meeting I.
As I promise, the beginning of the class will be held
through tasking and self-lecturing. What I want you to do in the second and third meeting are that;
1) Read Chapter II : The Grammar Translation Method
2) Choose one of your friend as your partner of the group. Thus, there will be some couples in the class. This couple works on every task includes this task and micro-teaching I will ask later.
3) Do an observation of reading or literary class in English Department on UNS of any semester. You can do this with your partner by sitting in or become a "black-member" of the class.
4) Report the observation you have done as detail as possible (Don't forget to write down the name of the course and its lecturer).
5) Compare how the class was going on to the one told in the book in Chapter II and answer questions below:
- How was the class going on?
- Do yo think that the class applied and (or) achieved the principles of GTM?
- Write down the positif and negatif aspects of GTM!
- The due date of your work is on Friday, September 6 at 07.00 am.
